And according to this article (sorry I really don't feel like digging too deep into this) the average home uses just over 1000 watts per hour. So we end up with 3460 watts or 3.46 Kw per hour. So lets assume he has only one display, is only running the PC's under a "reasonable load" and has only one set of external devices.
WHAT IS THE BEST WORLD OF WARCRAFT BOT PC
According to this article (this is under reasonable load and since he has 15 PC's I'm sure they're all being stressed to their maximum load) a PC consumes 210 watts + 310 for external devices and a display. But lets assume and lets assume the minimum. There's a lot to guess, like does he have a monitor connected to each PC? Then there's the hardware he's running. Running that many instances on one PC may not require the latest videocard since he can turn the settings down, but CPU power and RAM (not to mention hard drives) will still be vital. Assuming the bare minimum, that's 6-7 instances of WoW. Well he said 15 computers and over 100 bots. What did you say their current practise is? ) At least, that's what I think Blizzard would do if they knew anything about game theory / strategy. leave a few bots in there, but every now and then make a big show of kicking out the worst offenders. Likewise the bot-net runners know that they are unpopular with certain segments of the community that they derive their income from, and that not (as) many people would want to play a game with bots openly permitted, so they accept being on the wrong side of the law in exchange for a larger customer base. Now, Blizzard knows that the bot-runners need customers, otherwise they'll stop running their bots, and it seems unlikely the disgruntled customers will come back after having left for another persuit (I dunno, maybe going outside. So the optimum strategy (for Blizivision's profits) is to ban bots when customers start to get dissatisfied (and to make sure the dissatisfied customers hear about the bannings) IFF the expected loss of customers is greater than the loss from bot-net runners, but otherwise let them keep botting it up.
